My Wife and I Are Big Fans of Music

One of my favorite things to do with my time off is to sit in bed with my wife, put the computer on the bed and watch music videos. Both of us will spend the entire morning singing along with the music videos, and on occasion mimicking the dance moves of the performers that are on the music videos. Today we just got through listening to one of our favorite songs it is Rihanna We Found Love. My wife and I have always been big fans of music, in fact it was our love of music that attracted us to each other. The Adventures of ~ MiGhTy MoM ~My husband Rod was staring intently at his computer screen so I peeked over his shoulder to see what he was doing. He was on a website called Reviews of Fender Super Champ XD.

“What’s a Fender Super Champ XD?” I asked, making him jump. He gave me a glare as if I had tried to scare him on purpose.

“It’s a guitar amp,” he replied.

“Why are you reading up about it? Are you thinking of buying one?” I quizzed. “You know we don’t have much money right now! We’re barely covering our bills!”

“I know!” he insisted. “Don’t worry, I’m just reading up about it. Dave from my office recently bought one and has been raving non-stop about it. I wanted to see what was so great about it.”

“Oh okay…” I suddenly felt bad for raising my voice at him. Rod loves his music and gets together with a few good friends for a jamming session once in a while. He’d probably love to get some new gear but we’re in a pretty difficult financial situation right now since I recently got retrenched from my job. We are barely making ends meet at the moment but I guess we should be thankful that we still have a roof over our heads.

So I Was over at My Brother's Place

I was over at my brother’s place helping him build a little building and after a little while I realized that he was putting an awful lot of soundproofing insulation in it. I looked around and figured out it was a home recording studio. Of course the two of us had been in a pretty decent garage band in our teens and then he had been in a college band in Chapel Hill before he started focusing on his studies. Of course I figured out it was for Jake and Essie. I live a couple of hours away in South Carolina, so I was not really up to date. I know that they both play several instruments, but I really had no idea how good they had become. My brother wanted me to jam with them, but I had not touched a bass or a drumstick in so long I would have been embarrassed to play with them. They were really good and they had a real band together.

It's Time for Some Gigs

We love going to Bournemouth gigs. It is a great way to discover new talents, and we’re just so proud of the music community for coming up with new things to show us every week. We try to attend gigs of the bands we like, but when there’s a newcomer in town, you can be sure that the locals are flocking to see if they’re any good. It makes sense to support the music community. I mean, if they’re coming here to play for us and we don’t go see them, who else is going to come by? I feel like this is something that we all should be proud of in our community. We should give everybody a chance. It’s going to be something that is fun for us to explore every week. We love new talents and we love to give feedback. I think it’s nice for the band to hear feedback too!
